Set in 1978, The Herald follows William, an aspiring college journalist who intends to publish a hit piece about an infamous commune. One night, while trying to convince fellow classmate Kate to join the independent publication that he runs out of his dorm room, two former members of the commune show up on his doorstep demanding information about one of William’s sources.
